Minerva is a spacious apartment with its own front and back doors giving it the feel of a single storey cottage rather than an apartment. It is located in John Street which comprises attractive town houses, many dating back to the Georgian era.

Minerva is part of Montague House which has been sympathetically built to fit in with the Georgian architecture. John Street joins Guild Street where the gated entrance to Montague House is located, just yards from the rear of Shakespeare’s birthplace.

The apartment is within comfortable walking distance of all that Stratford has to offer; theatres, Shakespeare, markets, shopping, restaurants, river walks, boating, gardens & much more.

The centrally heated apartment consists of: an entrance hall with coat hanging and bookshelves; a large sitting room with a 3 seater sofa and armchair, and a fireplace fitted with a modern electric fire; a double bedroom with King-size bed, large fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers and a full-length mirror plus LCD TV with integral DVD player and ipod dock; fully tiled bathroom with full-sized bath fitted with an over-bath shower and screen, low-level flush WC, hand basin, shaver point and heated towel rail. There is a fully fitted, well equipped kitchen/diner which leads out into the car port through the back door. It is equipped with a glass dining table and 4 chairs, a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and oven with hob, plus everything else you will need for a self-catered stay including a breadmaker and coffeemaker. We provide plenty of glassware, crockery, cutlery and serving dishes to make dining in as special as you desire.

We have equipped the apartment with a selection of CDs, DVDs and books to ensure a "home from home" feel after sampling the delights of Stratford. There is free WiFi and an LED Smart TV (Freeview) with a Blu-ray/DVD  player. All linen and towels are included in the rent as is all electricity. You will find the gated parking space a real boon in central Stratford. The apartment is within easy walking distance of all shops, Marks and Spencer food hall is just across the road.

A picnic basket and chairs are provided, very welcome for open air theatre performances during the summer months. The apartment is fully serviced prior to arrival and the key holder will meet you in order to answer any questions you may have about the apartment.

Golf and fishing are within walking distance as are tennis and swimming. There are guided bus, river and walking tours available all year round. An event not to be missed is Shakespeare's Birthday celebrations during the week of 23rd April. Stratford upon Avon is surrounded by beautiful countryside dotted with picturesque villages, castles, historic country houses and gardens. Europe's largest butterfly farm is about a 5 minute walk away, at the start of the historic Tramway walk.

Location

Stratford-upon-Avon is a historic South Warwickshire market town located astride the beautiful River Avon. It is the region’s cultural centre and is internationally known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company and its theatres.

The Midlands’ canal network joins the River Avon outside the RST and the basin and surrounding canal network has moorings for the colourful narrowboats.

Stratford town offers a wide variety of shopping, sporting and leisure facilities with a good selection of quality restaurants, dining pubs, inns and coffee/tea shops, all within a short walk from the apartment. Shakespeare’s birthplace and other historic properties are 5 – 10 minutes walk away, as is the main theatre. Guided walks take place every day, including Christmas Day (www.stratfordtownwalk.co.uk). Bus and river tours are available as an alternative way to explore Stratford.

There are weekly markets on Fridays and Saturdays plus specialist craft and food markets during the summer months on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. Also during the summer, there are free outdoor performances of Shakespeare’s plays in “The Dell” by Holy Trinity Church on Saturdays and Sundays (make use of the picnic basket and chairs provided in the apartment).

A COURTYARD for the car is a lovely bonus, ours hasn't moved all week as we relaxed in the town and the flat. Tried the breadmaker for the first time - am not a talented baker!!
