1, 2 & 3 Bedroom Holiday Cottages | Sleeping 2-6
Furzen Hill Farm is a working arable farm which has been farmed by our family since 1939. The cottages have been converted from the 17th Century farm buildings and are grouped around the farmyard.
They all share the large farmhouse garden, tennis court and outdoor heated swimming pool. Families are especially welcome but children must be supervised around the farm yard and pool area at all times.
We are ideally situated in the centre of England for visiting Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and the National Agricultural Centre at Stoneleigh. The national Exhibition Centre is also within easy reach. There are numerous National Trust properties close by. Well behaved dogs are allowed by prior arrangement.
There is a hard tennis court and a outdoor heated swimming pool, which guests may use when it is in operation. It is covered by an Abrisud pool cover, which means you can swim under the cover even if the weather is a bit chilly. Parents are strictly responsible for their own children.
Each cottage has its own garden furniture and guests may bring their own BBQ's if they should wish to. Each cottage has a TV and DVD player; well behaved dogs are welcomed by prior arrangement. All cottages are non smoking.
Furzen Hill Cottage
Furzen Hill Cottage is the largest of our cottages and is adjoined to the farmhouse. It was converted from the original stables many years ago.
There are three bedrooms, one has a double bed, one has twin beds and a small ensuite shower room and the third has two single beds. There is a large bathroom with an old fashioned roll top bath and a separate walk in shower. The beam on the landing is low, so tall people please duck! The stairs are carpeted open tread with a sturdy hand rail on the left.
Downstairs there is a spacious living room with two settees and a rocking chair. The dining table will comfortably seat six people. Just off the hall there is a cloakroom with toilet and washbasin. The kitchen has modern units and is equipped with electric cooker, washing machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave.
There are electric heaters in all rooms. TV and DVD player for guest use, as well as Internet access
Unfortunately Furzen Hill is not suitable for most disabled people although there are no steps at either the front or back doors.
This cottage is situated on the end of the terraced building and the front door opens directly onto the farmyard/parking area. There are two steps leading up to the door. Upstairs there is one bedroom with two single old pine bedsteads and a double mahogany wardrobe and chest of drawers.
The bathroom is spacious with a large corner, walk in shower but no bath. The stairs are carpeted and have a solid banister on the left hand side. Downstairs there is a large living room with an oak floor and a beamed ceiling.
Two large settees, one of which is a double sofa bed for extra guests and a dining table and chairs. There is a step up from the living room to the kitchen which is on a slightly higher level. The kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer washing machine and microwave. TV and DVD player for guest use.
The rear door opens onto a small patio with garden furniture and access to the main garden. This cottage has oil fired central heating.
The Barn has three steps up to the door, with a hand rail on the right hand side. It has been converted from part of the old threshing barn and is surrounded by the farmyard. Although there is no garden around the cottage guests use the main farmhouse garden a few yards away.
This is a two bedroomed cottage, one bedroom has two single beds, the other, smaller room has 3ft bunk beds.. The bathroom has a bath with a shower overhead. The stairs are carpeted, with a bannister on the right hand side.
Downstairs the living room has two small settees and a circular pine dining table and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, washing machine, tumble drier fridge and microwave. TV and DVD player for guest use.
Converted from an old dairy unit, the cottage is a single storey barn conversion that sleeps 4 guest in 2 bedrooms, each with 2 single beds
Dairy Cottage is a single storey cottage all on one level but the doors are of normal width making it difficult for wheelchair users. There are two bedrooms each with two single beds and velux windows in the ceilings. The cottage has been converted from an old dairy unit and it is unfortunately our local council policy to allow only roof lights for extra windows.
The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The windows at the front of the cottage are normal height.
The lounge area has one large and one small settee and a drop leaf dining table and chairs, the patio doors lead directly to the small enclosed garden.
The kitchen has an electric cooker fridge freezer washing machine and microwave. All the heating is electric. The cottage is non smoking. TV and DVD player for guest use.
