1 & 2 Bedroom Holiday Cottages  |  Sleeping 2-4  
Pear Tree Holiday Cottages are near the village green and look across a paddock towards Mary Arden's House, the home of Shakespeare's mother's family. The The Apple Loft and Acanthus Cottage are completely non-smoking and unsuitable for pets but we do welcome children over 3 years old. The cottages share a beautiful three-quarters of an acre garden.

Pear Tree Cottage itself once belonged to William Shakespeare's parents, Mary (nee Arden) and John Shakespeare, who inherited it from Robert Arden - Mary's father. They mortgaged the property in 1578 and forfeited it, by order of the Chancery Court in 1597 for failure to repay the loan.

Our two-self-catering cottages adjoin Pear Tree Cottage and share its gardens.
There is plenty off road parking and a large garden with garden furniture.

THE APPLE LOFT | Sleeps 2 + 1
This accommodation, consists of a large sitting room with TV, a separate fully fitted dining kitchen, and a double bedroom with ensuite shower and WC. This bedroom can be made up with king-size or twin beds. An additional single bed is available in the same bedroom - if required.
The apartment is at first floor level having a bright and airy aspect overlooking the gardens and adjoining paddock.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, fridge/freezer, electric cooker, etc.
The cottage is fully central heated throughout.
The cottage has unrestricted use of the 3/4 acre garden with garden furniture in many secluded corners.
There is plenty of off-road parking and a large garden.

THE ACANTHUS COTTAGE | Sleeps up to 4
The accommodation, for up to four people, has a spacious Living/Dining area with comfortable settee, armchairs and a TV.
The fully-fitted kitchen has a breakfast bar, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave.
The cottage has two bedrooms: one double and one twin, each have their own ensuite bathroom- with bath, shower and WC.
The whole apartment is at ground floor level.

THE APPLE LOFT & THE ACANTHUS COTTAGE
The cottages are furnished to a high standard and have individual central heating temperature controls.
Both have access to full laundry facilities. The shared extensive grounds have ample garden furniture in secluded corners for relaxing or eating, on sunny days.
Costs are all inclusive of linen, towels, gas and electricity.
The village shop can provide all one needs for a snack, a full meal with wine, or a picnic in the garden.
Alternatively the two village Pub-Restaurants, within easy walking distance, supply good food to suit most tastes and pockets.
Ted and Margaret are on hand and will happily advise on eating out and tourist venues.

Location
Wilmcote is in the heart of Shakespeare Country just 3 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon and 8 miles from Warwick.

Visits to Stratford can be made by tour bus from Mary Arden's House, by train from the village Railway Station, or by your own Car in 10 mins.

The Warwickshire countryside and the nearby Cotswold hills contain a wealth of fine Gardens, Stately Homes, ancient Manor Houses and Castles to delight the visitor, as well as the internationally renowned Stratford attractions of Shakespeare properties and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Having lived here all our lives we can offer the best advice on days out from Pear Tree Cottage, aided by our own map and also help you to find our favourite eating places and country Pubs.

Some ideas for excursions within easy reach are the historic County Town of Warwick, with its superb Castle, Church and museums; also Kenilworth Castle, Blenheim Palace, the Cotswold Villages and any of a dozen National Trust Properties, including the spectacular gardens at Hidcote, Packwood and Upton House all within half an hour or less. Antique shops and markets to suit most pockets can be found nearby.

We are only 30 minutes drive from the NATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE.
