Qi Meditations are secular in nature and are designed to help you to:
Be relaxed 
Be energised 
Be calm & peaceful 
Be focused

WHAT IS QI  MEDITATION?
Qi  Meditation evolved from the Chinese understanding of how our body works: a system of practice and observation which has evolved over 5000 years. Many people in the West have now benefited from acupuncture. This stimulated the flow of chi (life force or energy) which promotes healing and good health. What is not so well known is that chi will respond to conscious will. This means with practice we can consciously guide chi through our body to help our natural healing process, thus empowering our health and well-being.


HOW DO WE EMPOWER OURSELVES?
Key components practiced in classes to enable us to develop our own ability include:

Relaxation
Simple exercises to help us remove physical tension from the body to allow chi to flow more easily

Feeling Gentle
A Taoist meditation states: “Be gentle and you will need no strength”. When we enhance the feeling of gentleness it also enables us to release tension and enhance the flow of chi to flow more easily.

The Eight Extraordinary Vessels
By increasing the vitality of these, the deepest energy reservoirs in the body, the chiof the whole body is enhanced

Wei Chi
This particular form of chi protects the body and creates an inner feeling of peace and security.

A Calm Focus
Often referred to these days as ‘mindfulness’: the ability to hold a relaxed focus upon a single activity without being distracted. Neuroscience has established that brain systems work in patterns or habits. By doing practices which stimulate those parts of the brain responsible for relaxation and calm, their patterns become dominant and we gain the resulting benefits.

Grounding
By becoming really grounded, connected with the energy of the Earth, we develop an inner feeling of balance, calm and harmony. It is like dipping into a lake of peace that is beyond a purely internal human experience.


WHERE TO LEARN AND ENJOY THE BENEFITS OF ACTIVATED CHI MEDITATION

Peter Keynton-Hook began meditation 40 years ago and started teaching meditation in 1980’s. He finds it a joy to watch others discover how meditation can transform their lives, enhance their health, promote well-being and empower themselves.

Peter holds regular classes around the county. Everyone is welcomed from complete beginners to experienced meditators. Classes may also be arranged in your own locality (subject to a minimum group size of 5)
